Morgan’s introduction to the hospitality business began in 1996, after spending two years living in Whistler, BC, before attending university.  He earned a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management from Ryerson University in 2002.

While studying, he worked as part of the concierge team at Toronto’s Marriott Eaton Centre and later at the Royal York as a doorman, giving him first hand experience on hospitality’s front lines and an early introduction into the Toronto restaurant scene.

He made the move back to Whistler, BC. There, he found work at a range of locations including Delta Hotels, fine dining restaurant La Rua and Whistler’s Convention Centre.

He joined Earl’s, the Vancouver-based restaurant chain, in 2004. Morgan quickly rose through the ranks from server to a Sr. Leader.  In 2008, Morgan returned home to create and operate PORT bar & dining room on the Pickering waterfront.

PORT is recognized as being one of the top destinations in the Eastern GTA, has been a proud OceanWise Partner since 2008, and an original participant with FeastON.  Todd was on the Durham Tourism Leadership Commitee for two and a half years and currently represents Durham Region on the Board of Directors with Central Counties Tourism Association (RTO6).

Maple Leaf Tavern is his second restauant.  He is responsible for the operations at both locations and contributes to the construction division of the organization, RB Morgan Construction, as a Project Coordinator.  He is currently working towards his Project Management Certificate at Ryerson University.

He is a born and raised eastender where he lives with his wife and two young children.
